Շիրակի մարզի մի քանի գյուղերի բնակիչներ փակել են Երևան- Գյումրի ճանապարհի Բենիամին գյուղի հատվածում՝ պահանջելով իշխանություններից անհապաղ լուծել ոռոգման խնդիրը: Տեղումների բացակայությունն ու օդի բարձր ջերմաստիճանը լուրջ վնասներ են հասցնում գյուղատնտեսությանը։ Շիրակի մարզում գյուղատնտեսական մշակաբույսերի ոռոգման ջրի պակասի պատճառով մնացել են անջուր, ինչն էլ կանդրադառնա բերքի որակի և քանակի վրա։ Մարզի ցածրադիր հատվածների ցանքատարածքներում բերքն արդեն ամբողջությամբ վնասվել է: Շիրակի մարզպետարանի գյուղատնտեսության վարչության պետ Մովսես Մանուկյանն «Արմենպրես»-ի հետ զրույցում նշեց, որ սա առաջին տարին չէ, որ գյուղացին երաշտի ժամանակ ոռոգման խնդիր է ունենում։
