Pence’s decision to attend Biden’s swearing-in ceremony at the Capitol on January 20 marks another public break with President Donald Trump after the riots in Washington. Earlier, Trump said he did not intend to participate in Biden’s inauguration. Trump is not the first outgoing president to skip the inauguration of his successor.
